The Science of Sleep
Stéphane entranced by his dreams and imagination is love-struck with a French woman and feels he can show her his world.
Stéphane, a talented young artist from Mexico returns to his French mother in Paris and begins to fall in love with his neighbour, but the course of true love does never run smooth. As the story unfolds the film illustrates beautifully the workings of his fertile imagination in a manner which would do credit to Terry Gilliam but also owes something to the ‘The Magic Roundabout’. The plot line may perhaps lead to a romance but it’s the surreal view of the inside of the hero’s head which arrests one’s attention and makes this a memorable film.
