Santiago’s work blends traditional craft with emerging technology to tell deeply human stories, moving between live action, 3D, hand-drawn animation, design, and AI.
Born in Colombia, he emigrated to Switzerland and later to Los Angeles at a young age. He studied design at the School of Visual Arts and spent three formative years at Sagmeister & Walsh before launching Art Camp. Together with the studio, he has directed and produced campaigns for Nike, Jordan, Hermès, and Telfar, as well as music videos for U2, Thom Yorke, Mitski, Bright Eyes, Indochine, and others.
His work has been featured in The New York Times, SHOWstudio, Wired, Rolling Stone, and NPR, and honored by D&AD, the Art Directors Club, and SXSW. He is also the recipient of the Art Directors Club Young Guns award.
Across mediums, his practice is guided by a belief in optimism, experimentation, and the emotional power of form.
