As a self-taught director and photographer, Lappin’s style is innately raw and youthful in its visuals and execution. Raised multi-nationally in Israel, New York, and London, Lappin’s global perspective blends an array of cultural touchpoints to create new images and approach stories from unique angles. His taste for the personal and philosophical can be seen in his film for the Adidas “1000 Original Stories” campaign, which profiled many underdog stories from South Londoners, all of whom were influenced by Adidas. Other commercial films from Lappin include work with leading brands like Lacoste, Captain Morgan, HP, Vogue, Häagen-Dazs, Converse, and JW Anderson, as well as recent forthcoming projects for Amazon and Hennessey.
Early on, Lappin worked at a record label where he was given the opportunity to create a promo video, blending his love for music and film and changing the trajectory of his career. His ability to capture the feeling of youth translated to many collaborations with electronic music artist Mura Masa, including popular music videos like “Deal Wiv It, “Love$ick” featuring A$AP Rocky, and “What If I Go,” which earned a Vimeo Staff Pick. He went on to direct music videos for superstars Usher, Post Malone, Charli XCX, Stormzy, and many others.
